What to do in Broome.....
Broome is a wonderful place to visit, whether your looking for an action packed fun filled adventure or you just want to sit back, relax and bask in the sunshine, there is something here for you.
We start with the famous Cable Beach being voted more than once, as one of the best beaches in the world, the white sand and azure water of Cable Beach stretch on for miles. The breathtaking sunsets are not to be missed. If you have your own four wheel drive you can drive onto Cable Beach and claim your own secluded piece of paradise. Make sure you check the tides befor hand as the Broome tides are large and move fast, the ocean has claimed a few cars from unsuspecting tourists and locals over the years. If you like being at one with nature, you can enjoy nude swimming and sunbathing north of the rocks at Cable Beach. Be prepared for the passing camel trains and curious eyes. Beach gear is also available for hire right on Cable Beach.
Gantheume Point Beach is excellent for young children, depending on the tides, the rock pools offer endless opportunities for exploration. If you have your own car you can drive straight on to the beach almost all year. Always check conditions first and remember to keep an eye on the tides. Gantheume Point is a popular gathering point on Sundays and the occasional beach dance party is held there. Dogs are also welcome on this beach.
Just a little further on is the actual Gantheume point where you will find Anastasia's Pool. A former light house keeper carved it by hand for his wife who suffered from arthritis. If the tides are right, the pool will be full of water and waves wash up on to the rocks offering you a natural spa experience with the most spectacular views. During negative tides, the dinosaur footprints can be seen if you know where to look. A replica of the prints has been placed at the top of the path. The colours of the huge pindan rocks contrast beautifully with the torquise water. The colours and patterns on the rocks are incredible and are unique to the Kimberley.
Overlooking the brilliant blue waters of Roebuck Bay is Town Beach. There is a shaded playground for the little ones and plenty of grass to run around on, this is also perfect for a family picnic or BBQ. Town Beach is the perfect place to view the amazing natural phenomenon 'Staircase To The Moon', Markets are held at Town Beach to coincide with this amazing site not to be missed. See where the old jetty used to be and enjoy the views all the way to the Port and beyond. Further on but still Roebuck Bay is The Port and Reddell Beach was named after Captain Riddell who was murdered by his mutinous crew. Reddell Beach is a place of great beauty, where local residents escape the busier parts of their town.

The biggest days of the race round are Ladies Day which falls on the second wednesday of August and is an undeclared public holiday for almost all ladies in Broome. The Broome Cup is held the Saturday after Ladies Day and is the biggest day on the track. People come from far and wide to enjoy this fun day out. When it comes to race attire anything goes, you can either dress in kimberley casual or glam it up in a races hat and frock.

"The location of the resort and its surround make for a beautiful peaceful haven to come back to after a day of sightseeing. Well done to all involved - we will recommend to everyone" D Callaghan, May 08.
